Quartz countertops

Quartz countertops have hit the market very heavily in the past five years. Quartz countertops allow you the durability and versatility of granite, without the maintenance. Comprised of approximately 93% true quartz and 7% acrylic polymer, quartz countertops have the beauty of granite without having to keep it sealed.

Most quartz products offer a warranty of 5, 10, or 15 years against manufacturer defects. There are several brands of quartz countertops including Cambria, Zodiaq, SileStone, CaesarStone, and HanStone. They are all comprised of basically the same type of material and have similar characteristics.

Quartz products have a certain amount of variation to them (pattern, size and shade) which are unique to the brand and color quartz product. This variation does not affect the product performance.

Structurally more resistant to surface damage than other types of countertops, quartz products, as with all other types of countertops, is not indestructible. However, another raw edge stone will scratch your countertops, as will other types of counter surfaces. Quartz countertops are also resistant to most stains. Seams are visible to the eye. Most consumers prefer an under-mount sink application with their quartz countertop.

Granite countertops

Granite is one of the most versatile of all stones. High compressive strength and durability are two qualities that make it a perfect choice for your kitchen. Granite is composed of quartz, micas, feldspars and other minerals that make up the rich colors and unusual texture of each slab. Granite must be sealed on a regular basis.

Granite's natural beauty and low maintenance make it a perfect choice for your home. We have several vendors with whom we work to satisfy our customers' granite needs.

Laminate

Laminate countertops such as those from Formica, Wilsonart, Pionite, and Nevamar have been used as countertop surfacing for decades. With laminates, you have hundreds of design choices with colors and form. Laminate countertops are durable, easy to maintain, and can be used in kitchens, baths, laundry rooms - almost anywhere.

Solid Surface

Dupont created the solid surface industry more than 30 years ago with a blend of natural materials and pure acrylic polymer called Corian. Today, there are many brands of acrylic countertops available - Corian, Staron, Meganite, HI-Macs, and Gibraltar to name a few.

Acrylic products have been proven to bring design versatility, long-term performance and value to any kitchen or bath. Solid Surface countertops are truly "renewable" surfaces. Scratches can be buffed out, if you should burn your countertop a certified fabricator can come to your home, cut out the burned area, and insert a new section of countertop, with minimal indifference to the eye.

Most dirt and residue can be easily removed with simple everyday household cleaners. Acrylic countertops allow you to have "integral" seaming in your sink area, inconspicuous seams, and the option of having the backsplash attached to the deck without any caulking - this is called a "cove backsplash".
